Ground Penetrating Radar

Ground Penetrating Radar Adelaide

GPR  a new technology in service location.

Ground Penetrating Radar utilises microwave electromagnetic pulses for subsurface imaging. GPR is a non-destructive and non-invasive means that can be used to detect changes in objects, material, voids or cracks  in a variety of media, including soil, rock,  pavements, fresh water and structures.

Radar pulses image the subsurface, where different materials reflect different densities. Our trained operatives then interpret the  information received to detect and map the subsurface structure.

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) can provide advance warning of subsurface features and in a broad variety of situations can save costly excavation accidents, ensuring stoppage or downtimes are minimalized.

Main Applications:

  • Constructing or repairing footings
  • Pylons, trenches or other potentially destructive structures.
  • Geo Tech Engineering
  • Road and Pavement Inspection
  • Concrete Structure analysis and imaging
  • Services & Utility Location
  • Location of Underground Storage Tanks
  • Cavity Detection
  • Cable and Pipeline Routing

Used in conjunction with APMS electronic locator and leak detection equipment to  record  all underground structure and utlities, subsequent underground construction projects can be planned effectively with minimal unforeseen delays.
